State Residualisation and Kron Reduction for Model Order Reduction of Energy Systems

Greater numbers of power electronics (PEs) converters are being connected to energy systems due the development renewable sources, high-voltage transmission, and PE-interfaced loads. Given that electronics-based devices synchronous machines have very different dynamic behaviours, some modelling approximations, which may commonly be applied run transient simulations transmission systems, not optimal for future grids. Indeed, systematic utilisation phasor approximation lines, implemented in most simulation programs, is increasingly appropriate anymore. In order avoid requirement full electromagnetic simulations, can resource-demanding time-consuming, this paper proposes a combination an event-based state residualisation Kron reduction technique. The proposed technique has advantage allowing accurate based on number variables, depending observed considered events, tolerated error, along with simplifying equations accelerated simulations.
